Besides, 3,027 new Covid-19 cases were detected after testing 13,173 samples, taking the total confirmed cases to 1,68,645.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin.
Sixty-eight laboratories across the country so far tested 8,73,480 samples, she said adding the daily infection rate on Tuesday was 22.98 percent.
Dr Nasima noted that against the number of total tests since March 8, the infection rate is 19.31 percent in the country.
Across the country, 1,953 more patients made recovery, she said adding that 78,102 people have so far recovered from the disease.
Against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 46.31 percent while the mortality rate 1.28 percent in the country.
Among those who died on Tuesday, 46 were male and nine female, she said. Since March 11, 1,703, male and 448 female died of Covid-19 in the country, she added.
Among the new deceased, one was between 11 and 20 years, two between 31 and 40, six between 41 and 50, 18 between 51 and 60, 21 between 61 and 70, six between 71 and 80, and another was between 81 and 90 years.
According to DGHS data, out of 2,151 dead, 13 were below 10 years, 25 between 11 and 20 years, 71 between 21 and 30, 155 between 31 and 40, 323 between 41 and 50, 624 between 51 and 60, and 940 were above 60 years.

In the last 24 hours, 27 patients died in Dhaka division, 12 in Chattogram division, two in Rajshahi division, seven in Khulna division, two in Barishal division, two in Sylhet division, two in Rangpur division and another in Mymensingh division.
Since March 11, 51.33 percent of the total deceased died in Dhaka division, 25.89 percent in Chattogram division, 4.97 percent in Rajshahi division, 4.51 percent in Khulna, 3.6 percent in Barishal, 4.2 percent in Sylhet, 3.02 percent in Rangpur and 2.41 percent died in Mymensingh division.
Thirty-nine people breathed their last at hospitals across the country while 15 others died at their homes in a span of 24 hours. Another patient was declared brought dead at a hospital.
A total of 495 COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospitals across the country and 914 released during the period.
Another 802 people were taken to isolation in the last 24 hours while 723 released. Currently , 16,873 people are in isolation.
During the period, another 2,438 people were home and institutionally quarantined and 2,798 released.
At present, 63,441 people are quarantined across the country.
