“We will do whatever needed to check river erosion ahead of the monsoon and we have taken it as a challenge,” said the deputy minister while speaking at a dialogue at Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum, held at the Secretariat.
“I will not allow any corruption in the Ministry as we are working focusing on the Prime Minister’s ‘Zero tolerance policy’ against corruption.”
Replying to a question about Teesta issue, the Minister said they are optimistic about quick solution to the problem.
He also said that he had visited six erosion-affected areas so far after taking charge of the office and he will visit the Haor area soon.
There are 94 projects for river protection and drainage system involving Tk 5,000 crore and the projects will be implemented soon, he said.
