The Chattogram University (CU) authority on Monday announced to suspend classes and examinations of all faculty from Tuesday till August 10 (Thursday) due to the torrential rainfall triggered by the depression in the Bay of Bengal.
The CU authorities took the decision on Monday, said a press release, signed by KM Nur Ahmed, acting registrar of the university.

However, the offices will remain open during this period.
According to the press release, it is said that the normal life of people and communication inside the university have been hampering badly due to the torrential rainfall for the last several days.
After considering the overall situation, the authorities concerned of Chattogram University have decided to suspend all classes and examinations for three days.

Earlier, the movement of the CU shuttle train remained suspended from Sunday night till Monday morning due to landslides and uprooting of trees and electric poles.
