A Detective Branch (DB) member and a member of the public were injured in an alleged counterattack by drug peddlers during an operation in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday night.
The injured are cop Abu Hanif and member of the public Md Sajib.
Rafiqul Alam, additional superintendent of police in Rajshahi, said an organised gang of drug peddlers had attacked the DB member while an anti-drug operation was ongoing in Maria village on Sunday night.

Commoner Sajib was also injured in the attack when he came forward to help the cop, he said, adding that the duo was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and now out of danger.
Four drug dealers were detained along with 400 pieces of Yaba pills from the scene, the police official said.
Two separate cases were filed in this connection, he added.
