The third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will not be inaugurated during the tenure of the interim government, said Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin on Monday.
The government will not be able to open the terminal during its tenure, he said at a press conference on the ‘Travel Agency (Registration and Control) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026’.
“We made every effort to open the third terminal. I personally met with the Japanese vice minister and held negotiations. We tried hard but our efforts were apparently unsuccessful,” he added.
Now the ministry is currently engaged in activating the procedural requirements necessary for the next course of action.
The next government will take a decision on this issue, said the Adviser.
