A dialogue was held in Kurigram on Sunday advocating the nationalisation of the jobs of private school, college, and madrasa teachers and staff.
To be effective, this would entail enlistment of such staff under the government's Monthly Pay Order.
The dialogue was held at the Kurigram Alia Madrasa Hallroom under the initiative of the Teachers' Union Alliance Kurigram District Branch.
The meeting was chaired by the convener of the alliance, Professor Shafiqul Islam Bebu, and attended by Member Secretary Professor Hasibur Rahman Hasib, Principal Nur Bakht, Professor Mokhlesur Rahman, Principal Mobasher Rashedin, Principal Dabir Uddin, Teachers Dewan Enamul, Nur Nabi, and former Headmaster Golam Mostafa, Associate Professor Fazlul Haque, and others.
The speakers said that nationalising the jobs of private school teachers is the only way to end their long-standing deprivation and called on all teachers and staff to join the movement.
