The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1,899 cases against traffic rule violators in different areas of the capital over the last two days.
The drives were conducted in different city streets of the capital on Thursday and Friday, said DC (Media) of the DMP Talebur Rahman on Saturday evening.
According to DMP traffic sources, the Traffic-Ramna Division filed a total of 119 cases, including 7 buses, 4 covered vans, 13 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 36 motorcycles.
DMP files 1,338 cases for traffic rules violation
The Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 134 cases involving 4 buses, 11 trucks, 2 covered vans, 10 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 74 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Motijheel Division, 132 cases were filed against 8 buses, 1 truck, 12 covered vans, 18 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 75 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Wari Division filed 320 cases, including 20 buses, 45 trucks, 41 covered vans, 41 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 116 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 190 cases involving 12 buses, 1 truck, 15 covered vans, 16 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 102 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Mirpur Division filed 265 cases against 10 buses, 10 trucks, 10 covered vans, 36 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 153 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Uttara Division filed 465 cases involving 47 buses, 22 trucks, 29 covered vans, 78 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 186 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 271 cases against 18 buses, 8 trucks, 10 covered vans, 32 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 105 motorcycles.
During the drives, 631 vehicles were dumped and 273 vehicles were towed.
The traffic division of the DMP said the drives will continue to maintain traffic discipline in the capital.
