Incessant light rains that started in the capital since Friday may decrease from Monday, according to Bangladesh Metrological Department.
Afroza Sultana, assistant meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department, told UNB that they recorded highest 223mm rainfall in Patuakhali's Khepupara in the past 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.
On the other hand, Dhaka city experienced 16mm rainfall for six hours till 12 pm today and the rains will decrease from Monday, she said.
BMD also forecast rain or thundershowers in all divisions including Dhaka of the country in 24 hours commencing 9am on Sunday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office update.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to the BMD.
