Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan stated, "Our Liberation War is a narrative of rising against injustice and discrimination. In its continuity, the anti-autocracy movement of the '90s and the student-people's uprising of '24 took place. The essence of these events is the same—to stand for justice."
He further said, "If the country were not independent, we would have had no positions, no status, nothing. Everyone must understand the immense sacrifices through which we gained a country."
"Because the student-people's uprising of '24 stood against discrimination, we can stand on this stage and speak today."
Mentioning Dhaka University as the cradle of all movements, the Vice-Chancellor said, "For this reason, our responsibility is greater. There is a debt of blood, a duty to that blood. It is crucial to remember these words. Today and tomorrow are two important days for the entire nation and Dhaka University."
To commemorate these days, detailed programs have also been undertaken.
