A 14-year-old schoolboy was killed in a head-on collision between an easy bike and a motorcycle in Faridprur’s Nagarkanda on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Khalid Matubbar, son of Md. Bilayet Matubbar, a resident of Madhya Balia village in the Kodalia Shahidnagar union of Nagarkanda upazila.
He was a student of class eight at Nagarkanda Ideal School.
Five killed in Kishoreganj road accident
The accident occurred on Monday afternoon in the College Balia area of the Nagarkanda-Joybangla regional road, near the upazila Sadar.
According to family members and witnesses, Khalid and his friend Ferdous were traveling on a motorcycle from Nagarkanda Bazar to Muksudpur. As they reached the College Balia area on the Nagarkanda-Joybangla regional road, their motorcycle collided head-on with an easy bike coming from the opposite direction.
The impact was so severe that Khalid's head was severed, and he died on the spot. Ferdous, who was seriously injured, was rescued and taken to the Nagarkanda Upazila Health Complex.

Md. Shariful Islam, Nagarkanda Fire Service Station Officer, said they recovered the body of Khalid and handed it over to the police.
Nagarkanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Safar Ali said that, following the request of the family, the body was handed over to relatives for burial.
