Internationally acclaimed experts emphasized the vital role of timely pediatric immunization in safeguarding child health during a recent program in Chattogram.
Titled “Expanding Protection Against Childhood Infectious Diseases through Vaccination,” the event brought together leading pediatric healthcare professionals to underscore the importance of timely immunization in preventing life-threatening diseases.
Organized by Synovia Pharmaceuticals PLC, the conference saw active participation from pediatricians, healthcare providers, and key opinion leaders committed to improving vaccine coverage and protecting children from preventable illnesses.
The keynote address was delivered by Professor Dr. Anna Lisa T. Ong-Lim, a renowned specialist in pediatric infectious diseases and Chief of the Division of Infectious and Tropical Diseases in Pediatrics at the University of the Philippines Manila.
A panel discussion followed, featuring esteemed Bangladeshi pediatricians including Prof. Dr. Syed Mesbahul Hoque, Prof. Dr. Wazir Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Badrul Alam, and Prof. Dr. Pranab Kanti Mallick. They emphasized the urgent need to strengthen immunization efforts against diseases such as meningitis, typhoid, hepatitis A, and seasonal influenza, advocating for increased public-private partnerships to bolster the nation’s pediatric healthcare system.
Over 100 pediatricians from across Bangladesh participated in the event, engaging in meaningful dialogue, sharing experiences, and staying abreast of the latest developments in vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases.
