A group of students from Dhaka University has announced the "Genocidal Awami League Ban Movement"(Gonohotyakari Awami League Nishiddhokoron Mancha) to demand the banning of the Awami League.
Anyone with anti-Awami League beliefs can unite under this platform.
This platform was announced by AB Zubair, a student of the Department of Islamic Studies, from the base of the Raju Sculpture at the university on Friday afternoon.
At that time, AB Zubair said, "The Awami League has killed two thousand people in July-August. For the past 16 years, it has carried out various forms of oppression and persecution on the people of this country. The first duty of the interim government was to ban the Awami League. Yet even today, we have to take to the streets to demand the ban of the Awami League."
Addressing the Chief Adviser, he said, "We want to have faith in you. We know you are trying. We support your good initiatives. You should arrange a referendum. See what the people of the country want. Withdraw your statement about the Awami League or explain why you made that statement."

"We have a responsibility to our martyrs. That responsibility is to ensure the trial of the Awami League. If we do not ban the Awami League now, it will never be possible. If they return once, they will start sucking the blood of the nation."
Mosaddeq Ali Ibn Mohammad said, "This platform will not take the shape of any political party. As soon as the Awami League is banned, it will be dissolved."
He called upon students of all institutions in the country to protest under this platform’s banner.
Announcing the next program, he said, "Tomorrow, Saturday at 5pm, a sit-in program will be held at the base of the Raju Sculpture, demanding the ban of the Awami League and justice for the genocide. During this time, a mass iftar will also be arranged at Raju Sculpture."
Earlier at 3pm, students started a procession from the Hallpara of Dhaka University, demanding the banning of the Awami League. The procession moved through the VC Chattar and arrived at Raju Sculpture, where they held a protest gathering.
