Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Nasrin Jahan, said on Saturday that coordinated efforts will be continued to make the Hajj and Umrah experience easier and more comfortable for pilgrims while addressing the closing ceremony of the three-day National Hajj and Umrah Fair 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon.
“Hajj management was excellent last year. The airfare was reduced by BDT 30,000 to lower the overall cost for Hajj. This year, we will discuss with other airlines involved in Hajj transportation to set even more affordable fares,” she said.
Drawing the attention of Hajj agencies, she also added that only reduced airfare would not significantly lower Hajj expenses and urged them to provide the best possible service to pilgrims.
The three-day fair was organized by the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB).
Additional Secretary (Development) Md. A. Awal Hawladar and Joint Secretary (Hajj) Dr. Md. Manjurul Haque of the Ministry of Religious Affairs were also present there and addressed the event as special guests, along with Biman Bangladesh Director (Marketing) Ashraful Alam, HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumdar, and Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank Mosleh Uddin Ahmed.
The HAAB President Syed Golam Sarwar delivered the welcome speech.
Later, the chief guest handed over crests to the representatives of the participating institutions.
