A Chattogram court on Tuesday placed the truck driver and his assistant on a two-day remand in connection with a case filed over the attempted murder of Anti-Discrimination Students Movement conveners Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam.
Judge of the Chattogram Judicial Magistrate Court-4 Mahmudul Haque passed the order when the investigating officer of the case produced them before the court with five-day remand prayer.
Those who were remanded were identified as truck driver Mujibur Rahman, 40 and his assistant Rifat Mia, 18 of Trishal upazila in Mymensingh district.

On November 27, Hasnat and Sarjis with a motorcade went to Lohagara upazila of Chattogram district to attend the burial of the slain lawyer Saiful Islam.
The motorcade included 12 motorcycles, two cars and one Pajero.
A truck hit a car in the convoy at 7:30 pm in Chattogram while returning after the burial.
The car's front end was severely damaged, but fortunately no one was injured.
A case was filed in this connection.
