A 25 member high-level delegation from Anhui Provincial People’s Government of China visited the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) on August 25 to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral trade ties.
The China-Bangladesh Enterprise Consultation Meeting, held at the BCCCI office in Gulshan, focused on potential collaborations in solar energy, agriculture, electric vehicles, cold storage, and garments, sectors aligned with Bangladesh’s efforts to expand value-added industries.
The Chinese delegation was led by Vice Governor Sun Yong and included Hefei City Vice Mayor Wang Haixia.
Officials present from the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh included Minister Counselor Liu Yuyin.
BCCCI was represented by Administrator Mst. Nargis Murshida, members of the chamber, and representatives from the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB).
In her welcome address, Mst. Nargis Murshida expressed hope that the Bangladesh government would provide full support to materialize these investment initiatives, including infrastructural facilities and necessary utilities for establishing new or expanded enterprises.
Vice Governor Sun Yong emphasized the importance of scientific and technological innovation and said Chinese investment could help Bangladesh produce and export higher-quality goods.
Also, he highlighted opportunities for Bangladesh to export jute, leather, and other non-traditional products and referred to the recent visit of Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus to China, which opened new avenues for bilateral cooperation, including exploring the country’s blue economy.
Minister Counselor Liu Yuyin praised BCCCI’s role in promoting trade and said closer people-to-people contact would benefit enterprises in both countries.

Hefei Vice Mayor Wang Haixia noted that Bangladesh is a key partner in China’s Belt and Road Initiative and expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation.
BCCCI members, including Sheikh Amin Uddin of Akij Group, former Acting President Md. Khorshed Alam, and Sk. Ruhul Amin, highlighted investment potential in electric vehicles, textiles, and solar energy sectors, inviting collaboration from Chinese manufacturers, particularly from Anhui Province.
