Hotel Agrabad will observe the 53rd anniversary of the late Sabder Ali, the founding Managing Director and a pioneer of Bangladesh’s hospitality industry, through a series of commemorative events this week.
On Saturday, July 5, a Qur'an recitation and prayer session will be held at the hotel premises, seeking eternal peace for his soul.
Family members, religious scholars, and close acquaintances, including H. M. Hakim Ali, the current Managing Director of Hotel Agrabad, will attend the event.
The management described this initiative as a mark of deep respect and gratitude for Sabder Ali’s visionary contributions to the hospitality sector. His legacy, they noted, continues to inspire the hotel, which thrives under the leadership of his successors.
On July 6, a floral tribute will be laid at his gravesite. Later that day, a lunch will be hosted in the Karnaphuli Hall of the hotel for all staff and associates.
The commemorative events will conclude with reflections on Sabder Ali’s lasting impact on the development of Bangladesh’s hospitality industry.
