Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Moynul Islam returned to Bangladesh on Saturday night after attending the 92nd General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
During his participation in the conference, IGP Moynul Islam held bilateral meetings with officials from various countries, including Germany, the UAE, Italy, the UK, Canada, China, the USA, Malaysia, South Korea, Australia, Turkey, Qatar, and INTERPOL's HRM Division.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Police and the Australian Federal Police during the visit.
On November 7, at the invitation of West Midlands Police, IGP Moynul Islam visited the Tally Ho Police Training College in Birmingham, UK. He delivered a welcome speech as the chief guest and engaged in discussions with trainers and trainees.
Upon his arrival at Tally Ho, IGP Moynul Islam was warmly received by Chief Constable Craig Guildford and other senior officers of West Midlands Police. The Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in the UK, Police Crime Commissioner Simon Foster, and other distinguished guests were also present.
At the college, IGP Moynul Islam witnessed a parade in the tennis court area and inspected the police trainees.
Notable attendees included senior officials from West Midlands Police, prominent members of society, Women's Police Association President Superintendent Emma Spencer, Police Association Representative Jas Pahil, International Police Association’s Ash Almkist, Chief Chaplain Khadija Suleman, and other esteemed guests.
The INTERPOL conference, which took place from November 4-7, was attended by representatives from 196 member countries.
