Illegal occupiers attempted to assault the executive magistrate while he was monitoring the market and evicting unauthorized occupiers from the footpaths during Ramadan in Feni.
This incident occurred on Tuesday (March 4) afternoon near the Sultan Mahmud Municipal hawkers market area in the city.
According to local sources and eyewitnesses, Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Jahangir Hossain of the district administration was conducting a mobile court operation to evict illegal occupiers from the footpath. During the operation, the illegal occupiers obstructed the officials. At one point, they gathered around the executive magistrate's vehicle and attempted to assault him. The situation was later brought under control by law enforcement officials.

Omar Faruk, President of the Sultan Mahmud Municipal Hawkers market Association, said, "I was not present at the scene during the incident. I saw it on social media. We will gather more details and take further steps."
Executive Magistrate Jahangir Hossain said, "After completing the mobile court operation, they (the occupiers) attempted to mob us as we were returning. During the operation, they tried to provoke the situation. The Deputy Commissioner has already been informed about the matter."
Meanwhile, mobile courts were conducted in various markets of Feni Sadar, Sonagazi, and Fulgazi Upazilas by the Upazila Nirbahi Officers and Executive Magistrates. In total, 11 mobile courts were conducted, resulting in 40 cases and fines totaling Tk 83,700 for various offenses.
