Dhaka, July 8 (UNB) – Incessant rain lashed the capital on Monday afternoon triggering water-logging in many areas and causing sufferings to city dwellers.
Roads in a number of areas, including Rampura, Shantinagar and Mirpur, went under water.
Many people were seen walking along the roads for lack of vehicles due to rain.
The Met office recorded 38 millimeters of rainfall till 6pm, said meteorologist Abdur Rahman.
The monsoon is active over Bangladesh and North Bay and the monsoon wind caused the downpour which may continue till Tuesday, he said.
Meanwhile, Met office forecast that light to moderate rain/thunder shower accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Khulna and Barishal division with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.
