Kurigram, Aug 29 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained an Indian citizen from Balahat bordering area Tuesday night for entering into the country without valid travel documents.
The detainee was identified as Abdus Sattar, 50, son of Waheed Ali of Takimari village in Dhubri district of Assam.
A regular BGB patrol team detained Sattar from the main pillar no. 1035 in Balahat bordering area along with 72 Indian soaps, some Indian currency and an oil container, said Subedar Rafiqul Islam, commander of BGB Chowddaghari camp.
Later, the detainee was handed over to Kachakata Police Station on Wednesday morning, he added.
