Daily Amar Desh Editor Dr. Mahmudur Rahman said on Saturday that no political leader or party will be able to come to power or remain in office through Indian mediation.
Speaking at a discussion meeting titled “The Post-July Revolution Situation and What We Should Do” at the Jashore Zilla Parishad auditorium, Dr. Rahman emphasized that no concessions should be made regarding the India issue, and any party attempting to mediate with India must be resisted.
He called for restoring democratic governance through a fair and acceptable election, warning that efforts from Delhi are creating chaos in the country. “If a peaceful and credible election is held, external forces will no longer have the opportunity to ‘fish in muddy waters,’” he said.
Dr. Rahman urged the government, civil society, and political parties to unite for this purpose.
Addressing the July Warriors, he stressed that political victories are impossible without winning the cultural struggle. He argued that under the Hindu-dominated system, the history and traditions of Bengali Muslims have been neglected, and reclaiming them through education is essential to counter Brahminist cultural dominance.
“If we can win this cultural war, we can also win the political war. Fascists like Sheikh Hasina will not be able to return,” he said.
He added that holding fair elections would prevent Indian-backed leaders from entering parliament.
Urging voters to reject candidates influenced by India, Dr. Rahman said, “We do not care about party affiliation; our priority is that no Indian broker should enter the parliament.”
