Listed extortionist Alamgir and five of his associates were arrested from Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area on Saturday, according to ISPR.
On Saturday night, the Bangladesh Army carried out a raid in the Navodaya Housing area of Mohammadpur and arrested them.

During the operation, the Army recovered sharp weapons from the suspects' possession.
According to intelligence reports, Alamgir and his associates had been staying in the area with the intent to commit criminal activities. Acting on this information, three teams of army personnel from the Basila Army Camp swiftly reached the spot and apprehended the suspects.
Later, they were handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station, where legal action is currently being taken against them.

“Such operations will continue in a bid to improve law and order and ensure the safety of the public,” added ISPR.
