Labour and Employment Adviser Dr M Sakhawat Hossain on Tuesday said the labour unrest would be resolved in a logical way.
“A logical, enduring solution would be made to the ongoing labour unrest in different parts of the country,” he said at a view exchange meeting with officials of the Labour and Employment Ministry in the secretariat.
The adviser said administrators would be appointed to the firms where any problem is found on the part of the owners.
He called upon the labourer brothers to join their respective works without creating public suffering by blocking the roads. “Keep your trust in us. We feel your pain. You will definitely get your dues,” he said.
Sakhawat Hossain asked the owners to pay the workers arrears and dues properly. “The dues of the worker brothers and sisters must be paid,” he said.
He said the minimum wages announced by the government should be executed in all factories. “Legal action will be taken if anyone fails to implement the wage board,” he said.
The adviser directed for formation cluster-based committees to investigate and resolve the labour unrest.
The cluster based committees will be formed in Gazipur, Narayanganj and Ashulia-Savar.
Labour and Employment Secretary AHM Shafiquzzaman presided over the meeting.
