Sylhet, Feb 15 (UNB) - The 35th death anniversary of General MAG Osmani, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces during the War of Liberation, will be observed on Saturday.
Different political, sociocultural and voluntary organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to commemorate MAG Osmani’s death anniversary.
Meanwhile, Bangabir General MAG Osmani Birth Centenary Udjapon Parishad, Sylhet organised several programmes, including a doa mahfil, offering fatehta and placing wreaths at his grave, on Friday.
Besides, Osmani Museum will arrange a Qurankhwani, a doa mahfil and a discussion on Saturday on the occasion.
Osmani was born to a landowning family in Sunamganj, Assam Province during the British era on September 1, 1918 and died in London on February 16, 1984.
He was educated in Assam and Sylhet and graduated from Aligarh Muslim University in India.
