Law enforcers picked up Rayhan Kabir from a condo of the City Centre, Malaysian Imigration Department DG Khairul Dzaimee Daud was quoted as saying by tabloid Harian Metro.
Qatar based TV channel Al Jazeera on July 3 aired the documentary titled ‘Locked up in Malaysia’s Lockdown’ and interviewed a number of migrant workers including Rayhan Kabir.
The interviewees brought allegations of ill-treatment to workers against the Malaysian authorities.
The report created a huge buzz in the country and drew criticism from the authorities who claimed the report smeared the image of the country.
The authorities have been searching him for the last few days.
The Immigration Department of Malaysia through a public notice urged people to provide them with information about the 25-year-old Bangladeshi youth.
A police investigation was launched to look into the report.
