A 45-year-old man died on Wednesday after a moving train hit ihm at Tejgaon Railway Station in the capital.
The deceased was identified as Hakim Rari, son of late Joynal Abedin, said Shajahan Miah, an employee of the railway.

“The victim was seriously injured when a Jamalpur-bound commuter train leaving Kamalapur him while crossing Tejgaon Railway Station at 4pm on Wednesday,” said Shahjahan.
Passersby and railway staff rescued him from the spot and took him to the Emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead at 6 pm after an examination, he said.

Confirming the matter, DMCH Police Outpost in-charge Inspector Md Bachchu Mia said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

An ID card of Titas Gas Company was found in the pocket of the victim, he said.
