Bangladesh Bank Deputy Director Naim Rahman, who had been missing for two days, was rescued by police in Madaripur on Tuesday night (November 11).
Bangladesh Bank authorities confirmed today that he is currently safe.
Colleagues at the central bank extended their gratitude for the recovery of Naim Rahman. In a statement, they expressed thanks to the Bangladesh Police, the Madaripur District Administration, and NDC officials for their coordinated efforts.
"The recovery effort was accelerated due to the news spreading rapidly across social media," Bangladesh Bank officials stated. "We also thank the journalist community and the general public for their assistance in publicizing and sharing the news."
Naim Rahman, a Deputy Director at the Bangladesh Bank, had been missing since Sunday afternoon (November 9). His last known location, tracked via mobile phone, was identified in the Sayedabad area of Dhaka at 12:53 PM. Following this, all contact was lost.
According to his colleagues, Naim Rahman is known as a responsible and quiet official. However, it was speculated that he had been under mental distress recently due to some financial and familial pressures.
A General Diary (GD) was filed regarding his disappearance, and the police initiated a search using mobile phone tracking technology. He was eventually located and rescued in Madaripur on Tuesday.
