The 21-member committee paid the homage by placing a wreath at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road-32 in the capital, said a press release.
After placing the wreath, the EC members stood there in solemn silence for one minute as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of Bangladesh's independence.
Md Nazrul Islam, BIGBOWA president and Prime Minister’s speech writer, BIGBOWA general secretary Sayed Mostafa Kamal and other members of the executive committee along with senior officials of Bangladesh Betar were present on the occasion.
On February 12, the 21-member body was elected uncontested.
The new committee will run the association for the next two years.
