The price of per litre unpacked soybean oil was set at Tk117, up from Tk115, 1- litre bottle at Tk139 from Tk135.

The price of a 5-litre-bottle of m soybean oil was raised by Tk30 to Tk660 per bottle, according to the commerce ministry sources.
On February 17, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said the prices of edible oil for the local markets are being adjusted in line with those in the international market.
According to the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) data of March 14, the price of 1 kg unpacked soya bean oil was increased to Tk118-121 from Tk115-118 and a 5-litre bottle to Tk600 from Tk580.
Also, the price of 1 kg unpacked palm oil rose to Tk105-107 fromTk100-105 and super palm oil to Tk108-110 from Tk105-107 in a week.

However, the price of 1 kg unpacked soya bean oil rose 38.15% while 1-litre bottled oil went up 26.19% and 5-litre bottled oil rose 25.77% this year compared to the same period of the previous year.
The price of 1 kg unpacked palm oil increased 46.21% and super palm jumped 41.56% in a year, the data also showed.
Now, the price of non-refined soybean oil is $1,275 per tonne and palm oil $1,037 in the international market, according to the TCB.
However, the annual demand for edible oil in Bangladesh is around 2 million tonnes, which is mainly almost met through imports.

Meanwhile, the price of coarse rice increased Tk46-50 from Tk44-46 and medium verity rose to Tk52-58 from Tk48-56, according to the TCB.
The prices of 1 kg potato rose 11.76% compared to the last week. "The prices of 1 kg local onion jumped to Tk45-55 from Tk25-30 and the imported one went up Tk35-40 from Tk18-20."
