One held with gold worth Tk 1.5cr at Dhaka airport


 A team of Dhaka Customs House arrested a man with 2.950 kgs of gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday night.

The arrestee was identified as Sheikh Sadi.

Solaiman Saif, Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House, said flight MH196 landed at the airport from Malaysia around 11:30pm.

Tipped-off, a preventive team of the Customs house challenged Sheikh Sadi, a passenger of the flight and recovered 2.950 kgs of gold worth Tk 1.5 crore after searching his body.

The arrestee was handed over to police.
