A severe to very severe heat wave is sweeping over parts of the country and it may continue, Bangladesh Meteorological Department said on Sunday.
“Severe to very severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Chuadanga, Dhaka, Tangail, Manikganj, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Sirajganj and Jashore. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping elsewhere over the country and it may continue,” said a regular bulletin of Met office.
This season’s highest temperature was recoded in Chuadanga at 41.1 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga on Friday.

Meanwhile, rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet divisions in next 24 hours commencing at 9am on Sunday.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Besides, a trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal to North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh.
