A police constable’s motorcycle was stolen in broad daylight while he was attending Friday prayers at a local mosque in Bankura village under Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Friday.
According to police and local sources, Constable Jewel, stationed at the Bankira police outpost, had gone to offer prayers at the Sayadatia Baitul Mamur Jame Mosque.
He parked his Yamaha FZ model motorcycle outside the mosque before joining the congregation.
However, upon completing his prayers, he discovered that the motorcycle was missing.
Haider Ali Joardar, president of the mosque committee, said the thieves acted quickly, managing to flee with the vehicle during the prayer.
