Shoppers are paying more for everyday staples:
A visit to several markets in the capital on Thursday found that cucumber is being sold at Tk 100 per kg, lemon at Tk 80–100 per four piece, eggplant at Tk 180, onion at Tk 60 per kg, green chillies at Tk 160 per kg, dates at Tk 620 per kg, edible oil at Tk 390 per two liters of bottle, and thin rice at Tk 140 per kg.
