Advisors Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) approved a number of procurement proposals including purchase of lentil from local supplier and import of fertiliser.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presided over the meeting on Tuesday.
As per approved proposals, Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will procure 10,000 metric tons (MT) of lentil for its open market sales (OMS) programme.
The Commerce Ministry moved the procurement proposal under the TCB to buy the bulk lentils from local suppliers through an open tender method.
Rajshahi-based Nabil Naba Foods Limited, a selected bidder, will supply the lentil at a cost of Tk 97.92 crore, with per kg lentil at Tk 97.22, to the TCB.
Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) will import 40,000 MT of DAP fertiliser from Saudi Arabia’s Ma’aden at a cost of Tk 298.16 crore with per MT at $611 under a state-level agreement.
Govt approves purchase of 10,000 tonnes of lentils
Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) will import a total 60,000 MT urea fertiliser and 40,000 MT of phosphoric acid.
Of these, 30,000 MT of bagged granular urea fertiliser will be procured from Karnaphuli Fertiliser Company at a cost of Tk 142.64 crore while 30,000 bulk granular urea will be imported from Sabic Agri-nutrients Company of Saudi Arabia at a cost of TK 144.62 crore.
The TCB will import 20,000 MT of phosphoric acid from Sun International FZE at a cost of Tk 152.02 crore while the remaining 20,000 will be imported from the same company at a cost of Tk 150.73 crore.
