Biren Sikder, state minister for youth and sports, will inaugurate the programme where former vice-chancellor of DU Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique will be present as the special guest.
A total of 250 participants will begin the run from the Aparajeyo Bangla at the DU campus at 6 am, said a press release.
Associate Professor Helal Uddin Ahmed of National Mental Health Institute will be present as the guest of honour where prominent musician Samina Chowdhury, first Bangladeshi woman to climb Everest Nishat Majumder and cricketer Taskin Ahmed, among others, will be present.
The World Suicide Prevention Day is an awareness day observed on 10 September every year, in order to provide worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides, with various activities around the world since 2003.
The run is supported by Universal Medical College and University of Dhaka where Al Kaderia Ltd is the hospitality partner.
