Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun attended the seminar as the chief guest with representatives from 12 different Indian firms taking part in it.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das said Bangladesh and India have close cooperation in many diverse areas and are natural partners to pursue further cooperation in the field of defence technologies.
Minister Nurul Majid paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and said Bangabandhu had emphasised building disciplined and professional Armed Forces.
He also said Bangladesh is the fastest-growing economy in South Asia and is making rapid progress in industrialisation.
Bangladesh’s Security Forces have earned a name for themselves as disciplined and professional force and the seminar provided an opportunity for defence manufacturers from India to develop fruitful partnership with them, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
