Police recovered the bodies of three people from the Dhanu River in Khaliajuri upazila of Netrokona on Monday afternoon.
The bodies were recovered around 3pm from the Ashalia Ghat area near Nautana, with the help of locals, police said.
The deceased were identified as Shahid Mia from Swarmushia in Atpara upazila, Hridoy Mia from Boalbari in Kendua upazila, and Rokon Mia from Bagjan in Madan upazila.
Khaliajuri Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mokbul Hossain confirmed the incident, stating that necessary legal actions will be taken.
Unidentified woman’s body recovered in Lalmonirhat
According to police and locals, a violent clash erupted on Saturday (March 8) at the Rasulpur Ferry Ghat between residents of Jagannathpur and Rasulpur villages over river crossing.
During the clash, over a hundred pickup vans, auto-rickshaws, and CNG-run auto-rickshaws were vandalized and set on fire.
Several people, including Rokon Mia from Madan upazila, Yasin Mia, Shahid Mia from Atpara, and Hridoy Mia from Kendua, went missing during the violence.
To restore order, law enforcement detained around 50 people from the spot.
