Five people were killed and two others injured in a collision between a private car and a truck on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway in Lohagora upazila of Chattogram early Monday.
Three of the deceased were identified as Harunur Rashid, 30, Saidul, 33, and Humayun, 25. They were residents of Lohagara upazila.

The Cox's Bazar-bound speeding private car crashed into the Chattogram-bound truck near Adhunik Nagar Bazar, leaving two car passengers dead on spot and five others injured, said Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dohazari Highway Police Station.
Two others died on the way to a local hospital, he added.

Three injured people were sent to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where Humayun succumbed to his injuries around 10am.
The two vehicles were seized, said the OC.
