Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Monday fined two filling stations Tk 100,000 for weight and measurement manipulation in the capital.
The BSTI fined the two filling stations each Tk 50,000 through a mobile court in Mohakhali.
The mobile court, led by BSTI Executive Magistrate Muhammad Amimul Ehsan, punished Toshofa Enterprise for dodging 90ml in the sale of each 10 litre octane and 70 ml in each 10 litre diesel, while Royal Filling Station for not having the updated calibration chart of its underground storage.
The mobile court also asked the refuelling stations to keep the supply and sale through flawed dispensing units suspended.
BSTI Assistant Director Mafiz Uddin Ahmed and Inspector Md Billal Hossain were present during the drive.
