The victims are Md Khalid Hasan Dhrubo, 19, a 1st year student of Social Science department of Dhaka College, and his nephew Tanzim Al Islam Dibos, 17, an ‘A Level’ student of an English medium school.
Family members said the duo went missing after they started for the IDB Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon area from Mohammadpur around 2pm to buy a laptop.
Two general dairies (GDs) -- one with Tejgaon Police Station and the other with Mohammadpur Police Station -- were lodged in this connection on Tuesday night.
Talking to UNB, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Police Station Ali Hossain said they were trying their best to trace the missing students. “We’re trying our best to locate their whereabouts,” he added.
Contacted, sub-inspector of Mohammadpur Police Station Md Shafiqul Islam said they were also trying to trace their whereabouts.
Dhrobo’s brother Md Khairul Kabir said their nephew Dibos who lives in the Elephant Road area came to their house and called Dhrubo as they planned to buy a laptop from the IDB Bhaban.
“We called them over their mobile phones on Tuesday evening but found those switched off. Then we went to Tejgaon Police Station for further information,” he said.
According to call lists of their mobile phones, they were last located at Monipuripara of Mohammadpur, Khairul said.
