Two workers, including a woman, died after falling from buildings on Thursday morning, police said.
The victims were identified as Khairun Nesa, 47, a worker in Lalbagh, and Zakaria, 18, a construction worker in Pallabi.
Khairun Nesa was cleaning the roof of a four-story old building in Azimpur Government Colony, Lalbagh, when she slipped and fell. She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where she was declared dead at 10:45am by the attending doctors.
Khairun Nesa was the wife of the late Abul Hossain from Kalkini Upazila in Madaripur and was residing with her family in Kamrangirchar Matbar Bazar Hariken Factory Lane.
In another incident, Zakaria, a mason's helper, was working on the third floor of an under-construction building in Avenue-5, Madinabag area of Section 11, Pallabi. He was electrocuted and fell.
His colleague, Md. Jalal, reported that Zakaria was rushed to the DMCH emergency department, where he was pronounced dead at 11:45am.
Zakaria was the son of van driver Nesar Uddin from Bauphal Upazila in Patuakhali and was living with his family in the Purabi area of Section 11, Mirpur.
Inspector Md. Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed the incidents.
He said that the bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy, and the relevant police stations have been informed.
