Twenty seven cases have been filed in connection with the anti-quota movement clashes in Chattogram in the past few days.
Around 12,000 unidentified individuals have been charged in these cases. Of the accused, most of them are leaders and activists of the BNP.
Following the clashes, police raided the different areas of the city from July 16 and arrested 703 people till 8am on Wednesday (July 24 ).
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Media and Public Relations Department of CMP, Kazi Md Tarek Aziz told UNB that 16 cases have been registered in Chittagong Metropolitan regarding killings, riots, terrorist activities and sabotage during the quota movement.
A total of 373 people were arrested in these cases.
Abu Taib Mo Arif Hossain, additional superintendent of Chittagong District Police, said 11 cases have been filed in Chittagong regarding attacks and vandalism related to the quota movement.
A total of 330 people including 57 were arrested in these cases in the 24hrs till Wednesday morning.
