A Chuadanga court on Monday sentenced a woman to life term in jail in a case over recovering drugs from her house in Sadar upazila of Chuadanga around three years back.
Chuadanga Additional District and Sessions Judge-2 Md Masud Ali also fined the convict Tk 10,000, in default of which she will have to serve three more months’ jail, said the court’s Public Prosecutor Advocate Belal Hossain.

The convict Fatema Begum, wife of Suruj Ali of Hatikata Morpara under the Sadar upazila, was on the dock during the delivery of the judgment.
According to the case statement, members of Department of Narcotics (DNC) recovered 506 ampoule drug injections from Fatema’s house and detained her on April 25, 2021.

Later, a case was filed accusing her with the concerned police station. on June 22 of the same year the investigation officer of the case submitted the chargesheet.
After completing legal procedures, the court handed down the judgment.
