Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard recovered the floating body of a woman, believed to the victim of the trawler capsize, from the Bay of Bengal near Chhera Dwip on Saturday.
Lt Nayeem, Coast Guard commander of St. Martin's Island, said they recovered the body from the Bay around 11am.
“She might be a passenger of the Malaysia-bound trawler that capsized in the Bay on Tuesday with 138 Rohingyas on board,” he said.
Earlier, Coast Guard members recovered another body from the same spot on Friday evening.
The incident of trawler capsize took place in early hours of February 11 near the St. Martin’s Island, leaving 15 of its passengers dead.
Seventy-three passengers were also rescued alive. “The operation is going on to trace the rest missing,” Nayeem said.
A case was filed over the incident accusing 19 human traffickers and police have so far arrested nine of them.
