The Bangladesh Gas Field Company Limited (BGFCL) has commenced workover operations at Well No. 5 of the Habiganj gas field.
The successful completion of the workover is expected to increase the national grid (gas) supply by an additional 10 to 15 Million Cubic Feet per Day (MMCFD).
The workover activity was formally inaugurated recently by Petrobangla. BGFCL confirmed the launch of the operation in a press release issued today (Monday).
The work on well No. 5 is being conducted under the project titled 'Workover of 7 Wells in Titas, Habiganj, Bakhrabad, and Meghna Gas Fields'. The BGFCL aims to complete the workover operations by December this year.
The successful completion will significantly increase the well's output, helping to mitigate the country's ongoing energy shortage.
The inauguration event was attended by BGFCL Managing Director Engr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Petrobangla General Manager, and General Managers from various departments of BGFCL and BAPEX.
