A young man was killed in a knife attack by unidentified assailants near Khulishpur Police Station in Khulna.
The deceased identified as Ishan, 22, a resident of Petka Bazar in Mujgunni and son of Bacchu. Another youth, Raj, sustained serious injuries in the same incident.
The attack occurred around 7:15 pm on Thursday near Fair Clinic in Khulishpur. Raj, the injured, is the son of Mizan Uddin from Sonadanga residential area- 2nd Phase.
Locals said a scuffle broke out near the clinic, during which an unknown person stabbed both Ishan and Raj before fleeing the scene.
Passersby rescued the victims and took them to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment. Ishan was stabbed in the right side of his abdomen. His condition deteriorated, and he was later shifted to Khulna City Medical College Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Raj remains under treatment.
Mir Atahar Ali, officer-in-charge of Khulishpur Police Station, confirmed the incident and said senior police officers visited the site after hearing of Ishan’s death.
Despite the police presence, local witnesses have not provided information. Authorities launched a night operation to apprehend the attackers.
