The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Bangladesh's primary capital market, witnessed a mixed trend during the first two hours of trading on Sunday. While the main index, DSEX, posted modest gains, movements in other indices reflected the market's varied trajectory.
During this period, 9.51 crore shares and mutual fund units were exchanged through 85,984 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Tk 265.6 crore.
DSE index rises by 39.30 points with increased trading volume
A total of 368 companies participated in the day’s trading. Of these, the share prices of 214 companies increased, 116 declined, and 48 remained unchanged, showcasing diverse investor sentiment.
The DSEX index, the benchmark for the DSE, rose by 5.65 points to reach 5,360.98 points. The DSES Shariah index, which tracks Shariah-compliant stocks, edged up by 2.21 points to 1,191.73 points, while the DS30 index, comprising blue-chip stocks, dropped by 21.50 points to 1,984.75 points.
