The Miss Bangladesh Beauty Pageant 2024 wrapped up last night at Le Méridien Dhaka, marking a gala celebration of talent, intelligence, and beauty while crowning the top ten contestants who will represent Bangladesh in ten international pageants across six continents.
The title of Miss Bangladesh 2024 was claimed by Ferdousi Tanvir Ichchha, who also earned the title of Miss Bangladesh Earth. She will now prepare to represent Bangladesh at the Miss Earth Contest in the Philippines on November 9, 2024.
Born and brought up in Dhaka, Ichcha is currently studying LLB in BRAC University.
Kazi Tarana, the 1st runner-up, will compete in Miss Global in Cambodia, while Mahbuba Rahman Labonno, the 2nd runner-up, is set to showcase her talents at Royal International Miss in the USA.
The rest 7 of the top 10 will represent Bangladesh in Miss Heritage International in Thailand, Miss Asia, Miss Asia Global, and Miss Glam World in India, Miss Interglobal in Philippines, Miss Culture Global in South Africa and Miss Freedom of the World in Kosovo & Albania.
The event was organized by the Miss Bangladesh Organization and Miss Bangladesh Foundation. Meghna Alam, Chairman of the Miss Bangladesh Foundation, emphasized: “The competition may be over, but our mission has just begun. We are committed to rebuilding and rebranding Bangladesh globally, and these young women will serve as global ambassadors of change, advocating for environmental sustainability and social responsibility.”
Julia Wesemann, Director, Growing Together; Minna Svinhufvud, international stylist and yoga trainer; Sharmin Rahman Rauma, senior journalist, BBC; Manam Ahmed, music producer and composer; Nazim Farhan Choudhury, Managing Director, Northbrook Consultants Ltd; Ferdous Bappy, corporate trainer and media personality and Meghna Alam, Chairman, Miss Bangladesh Foundation were the judges for the grand finale.
Through this initiative, the Miss Bangladesh Organization seeks to highlight the beauty and intellect of Bangladeshi women and redefine the nation's global image by promoting sustainable development. By nurturing a generation of eco-conscious leaders, this event paves the way for Bangladesh to emerge as a key player in environmental stewardship, leading toward a brighter, greener, and more empowered future, according to the organizers.
Miss Bangladesh will be aired by its media and broadcast partner ATN Bangla. ATN Media Communications Ltd and Trilogy are event partners, while Northbrook Consultants Ltd is the PR partner.
