Tropical Storm Henriette has regained strength over the Pacific Ocean, located well east of Hawaii, but officials say it is not expected to threaten any land areas.
The Miami-based National Hurricane Center reported that Henriette was about 450 miles (720 kilometers) east-northeast of Hilo, Hawaii, moving northwest at 14 mph (22 kph). Its maximum sustained winds reached 40 mph (65 kph), just above the tropical storm threshold of 39 mph (63 kph). Forecasters anticipate some additional strengthening in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Ivo is also active in the Pacific, southwest of Mexico. Ivo’s winds were recorded at 50 mph (85 kph) as it moved west-northwest at 7 mph (11 kph), approximately 295 miles (470 kilometers) west-southwest of the Baja California Peninsula tip.
No coastal watches or warnings have been issued for either storm. However, the Hurricane Center warned that swells generated by Ivo are expected to affect the southern Baja California Peninsula for the next day or so, creating hazardous surf and dangerous rip currents.
