How to Go to Jaflong from Dhaka

Reaching Sylhet from Dhaka can be accomplished by bus from multiple terminals, including Gabtoli, Mohakhali, Fakirapool, or Sayedabad. The cost per person ranges from BDT 700 to BDT 1500, with a travel time of 6 to 8 hours.

Alternatively, opting for train travel means boarding a Sylhet-bound train at Kamalapur or Airport Railway Station in Dhaka. The ticket prices start at BDT 320 and go up to BDT 1099 per person. This journey also takes approximately 7 to 8 hours.

The quickest means of travel is by air, with prices ranging from BDT 3,500 to BDT 10,000. The flight from Dhaka to Sylhet airport takes a mere 30 to 45 minutes.

Sylhet to Jaflong

For the onward journey to Jaflong, buses depart from Kadmatoli and Sobhanighat in Sylhet, charging BDT 80 to BDT 100 per person. Apart from buses, CNGs, Leguna services, and microbuses are readily available, often congregating near Bandarbazar Shishu Park. Additionally, transports can be reserved throughout Sylhet. Regardless of the mode of transport chosen, the journey to Jaflong generally takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.

CNG rentals range from BDT 1,200 to BDT 1,500 for the entire day, including travel. For Leguna services, the cost can range from BDT 2,000 to BDT 2,500. The microbus reservations may require between BDT 3,000 and BDT 5,000.

These vehicles take different routes to reach the zero point at Jaflong, with the option to use the preferred road if a vehicle has been reserved. Notably, the road passing through Guchchogram BGB camp is a recommended route.

However, the current road conditions leading to Jaflong have significantly improved.

Accommodation options in Jaflong include a few rest houses in Mama Bazar. Staying at the government rest house requires prior permission.

For better hotel options, it's necessary to return to Sylhet City, where numerous hotels are concentrated around the Shahjalal Mazar. Residential hotels of varying quality can be found from Dargah Gate to Ambarkhana, Lamabazar, Zindabazar, Taltala, and Kadmatoli. In the Dargah Gate area, room rents can be as low as BDT 1,000 and reach up to BDT 2,000.

Better hotels may charge between BDT 2,000 and BDT 10,000. Some resorts have room rates that range from BDT 8,000 to BDT 30,000.

Jaflong offers several quality restaurants where full meals can be enjoyed at any time. For affordable dining options in Sylhet, consider restaurants in the Zindabazar area. The cost of breakfast at these restaurants can range from BDT 50 to BDT 100 per person. The lunch or dinner may cost between BDT 150 and BDT 300 per person.

Nearest Places to Visit in Jaflong

The vicinity of Jaflong offers an array of attractions, including the Sangrampunji Fountain. To reach this remarkable natural spring, embark on a 15 km walk across the Piyain River. Visitors should admire the natural spring from a certain distance, as it extends into Indian territory.
